Conference Location & Check-In | The conference will be held at Appalachian State University on the fourth floor of the Plemmons Student Union (263 Locust St., Boone, NC 28608). Upon arrival, please stop by the registration desk to pick up your name tag. The registration desk will open at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 11. |
Parking & Building Access at ASU | Parking on Appalachian State University’s campus is free for conference attendees. Please park in the College Street Deck each day. If that deck fills, it is recommended that you park in the River Street Deck (please note this is a longer walk). All campus locations are available in Google Maps, and the Interactive Campus Map tool (maps.appstate.edu) allows you to search by building name. There are two elevators in the Plemmons Student Union, but only one services the fourth floor. This elevator is located on the east side of the building. Staff will be on-site Tuesday to assist with directions. |
Food & Beverage | Each morning from 8:30–9:00 AM, CCAA will provide coffee and light breakfast items. As a reminder, the Quality Inn & Suites provides a complimentary continental breakfast. Throughout the day, water and light snacks will be available. Tuesday: Lunch on your own Alternative meal options will be available for those who previously indicated dietary restrictions. |
Networking Events | Tuesday Evening: Welcome Reception – Plemmons Student Union (Solarium). Light appetizers and one drink ticket provided. Wednesday Evening: Off-site Networking Event – High Country Lanes. Bowling, shoe rentals, a nacho bar, and one drink ticket provided. Thursday Evening: S’mores & Game Night – Plemmons Student Union (Solarium). Light appetizers, s’mores, and one drink ticket provided. For all three evenings, an open bar will be available after drink tickets are redeemed. Please note: Alcohol must remain within the venue and may not be taken outside. |
Transportation to ASU and Around Boone | The AppalCart public transportation system provides service between the hotel and the conference venue. The Green and Orange routes serve this area. For convenience, you can track bus arrivals in real time using the ETA SPOT app. For service between the hotel and the conference venue, use the Green Route. From the hotel, attendees should board the Green Route at the King St / Farthing St stop (approximately a 0.3-mile walk from the hotel). They should exit at the ASU College Street Station stop, which is approximately a 0.2-mile walk to the Plemmons Student Union. For service from the conference venue to the off-campus networking event on Thursday, use the Purple Route. From the Plemmons Student Union, attendees should walk to the ASU Convocation Center stop (approximately a 0.3-mile walk), board the Purple Route, and exit at the Pride Drive stop, which is approximately a 0.2-mile walk to High Country Lanes. For service from High Country Lanes back to the hotel, use the Red Route. Attendees should walk to the Boone Heights 2 stop (approximately a 500-foot walk), board the Red Route, and exit at the Quail Drive stop, which is approximately a 0.7-mile walk to the hotel. |
Helpful Information | Please note that ASU is a cashless campus and cash is not accepted anywhere. This applies to the open bar at on-campus networking events. Boone weather can be very fluctuating. Please pack layers and be prepared for all types of weather. |
